Era of Making Football Ground at KBS, 2015.

Life B-P Church, Singapore Mission team taught at KBS

In April 5th, KBS made realistic drama on Ester Day and showed it  early morning. We flattened the ground in front of Ark Stadium with excavator and bulldozer and made football ground. Brother Park JaeYeol came to Cambodia when he was in his secondary school time and stayed with us several months. When he grew up and found the job, he donated his first salary to us. So we decided to make football ground with that offering because teacher Reli and KBS students loved playing football. Mission team of Life bp church visited us and taught bible students, visited local churches, even to Thmorbang, KohKong Hanmaeum church (Pastor Yitha and Kim), and Bakkrong church (Pastor Amos).

On May 5 to 6, there was MAC Convention in PP. Around 60 missionaries gathered and discussed how to respond in the age of Asean Economic Alliance. They would open their border and travel freely, be employed any country. We worried Cambodians would get lesser opportunity than others. Living Praise church of Singapore came and taught students for a week.

In June teachers from Singapore and Australia taught at KBS for a month.

In July Seoil church visited and surveyed Kohkong and SraeAmbal. Rev Robert Oh interviewed many KBS graduates for the paper of his doctorate course at Oxford, Patron-Client relationship in the mission field like Cambodia.

In Aug, youths of SoMyong church visited local churches and presented their program. The pastor brought them in order to show vision of mission to the youths. GaeRim church visited Ratanakiri Kachan Praising church where they donated church building and kindergarten building. The youths of SaeEden church did mission in PP, Kratie, Ratanakiri. The teachers of Living Praise of Singapore taught at KBS and I went to Korea for treatment of shoulder pain and get treatment in KwangJu. Rev H H Lee helped in treatment.

In September Moriah bp church visited. Grace Hahn made MOU with Interior Ministry for prison ministry. 
They requested her to do this prison ministry at more prisons. But she could not do in the limitations of staff and fund. It was too exhausting for her even to cover three prisons, PP, Kompongcham, Kompot. In order to do medical mission at a prison, she must get the permission first from interior ministry. They requested many papers for it. Singaporean doctors also requested many things to her before coming to Cambodia. Once the team arrived, arranging hotels, restaurants, interpreters, packing of one thousand gifts for inmates so on, it was tremendous job. Medical teams came two times a year from 2006 to 2019. Usually more than 20 persons were one team, three or four doctors, two or three nurses, one or two pharmacists, sometimes dentists, medical students, deacons, youths. They need around 10 interpreters for this ministry, at queue, for doctors, for pharmacists, for Gospel sharing, so KBS students were mobilized to the prisons whenever medical team come. Bible students also learned a lot from this particular ministry. Many inmates also were baptized.

In Oct Life bp mission team visited RK, Banloong, Oyadau, Le village from which brother Bunteoun, Senghong, RomanYat, Bunnarith came to kbs. Also brother Peter Hu brought a Chinese team to KBS. 50 of them had 3 days seminar. Elder Wes Taylor also taught at KBS.

In Nov. Rev Robert Chew of Singapore Moriah bp church taught at KBS. Life bp medical team did mission at KBS.
In Nov 24 ~ 26 there was 8th Revival Camp at KBS. 880 people from 33 churches attended. BokYong Church visited Jomkajeik dormitory in Thmorbang which they donated, and Sambor church ( Sokun and Chhovy) in Kompongthom and had fellowship.

December 1st, graduation was; 12 Diploma and 1 Bachelor. On 5th, kindergarten teacher training was. 

On December 25th to 28th, medical mission of Glory Presbyterian church of 21 members consulted 600 patients, 40 inmates were baptized. HongKong team had Christmas celebration at PhnomPhen prison and gave gifts to inmates.

 

Fellowship with Dr Chan SingChai She has visited Cambodia since 1998 when she retired from University professor and finished theology at SBC. Every year she stayed Sihnoukville for a month or two and taught KBS students. She also took care of our children in Singapore, and gave much help to the ministry. She made 17 years' consecutive visit to Cambodia in January, 2015, and taught bible students..Now she is 81.(written on 29. Jan. 2015)

 

Missionary JeeKuHo brought 300 church members from 15 churches in Kondal province and conducted 3 days' camp at KBS during lunar new year. and many experienced the work of Holy Spirit. KBS helped in preparation of the Camp, lodging, shower, electricity hooking, and cooking. Our former student, Lydat is serving with missionary Jee after he finished Diploma of Theology at KBS in 2009.

Palm Sunday. When people shouted hosanna, He cried over coming disaster.

Life B-P Church, Singapore Mission team taught at KBS, and KCS, and traveled to Thmorbang (Tokna & Sokia, Joel & Hanna), Hanmaeum church (Yitha & Kim, Hanna&Pansa), and Bakrong in Kohkong where brother Amos is ministering. Amos settled there 13 years ago, and has three children (Nuri, Nura, Yaiyuk).

Lecture of Andrew and Sophany Deane This couple are teaching on Marriage Counselling for a week. Brother Andrew is teaching and his wife interpret into Khmer.

Kindergarten Dedication Service on 13th August, of Kachan Praising Church in Ratanakiri which brother Ravy and Chenda are serving, , it was dedicated by the offering of KwangJoo GaeRim Church. Two elders and senior pastor and members from Korea join the service.

17th August, Sae Eden Church of 35 mission members visited Ratanakiri, and had meeting with children at Kachan Praising Church, and presented many things and prayed together. Seven KBS students helped them..They had dinner together with the children.

18th August Sae Eden Church visited Le village which brother Buntheon is serving. The Zhrai tribe are living there. Brother Buntheon is also from Zhrai, After his father, leader of the tribe, was evangelized, many of the village people came to the Lord. They also made house-to-house evangelism. Our KBS students interpreted for them.

19th August Sae Eden Church team visited Love Church in Kratie which brother Chhay is serving with his wife and two children, They made house-to-house evangelism, and presented several visual messages. After mission, they took good rest near the Mekong river.

Life B-P Church of Singapore, They made medical mission trip to Kompongsom. Rev Colin Wong preached at KBS. Doctors and dentists consulted the village people, the other members taught the children.

8th Revival Camp, KBS, 24th -26th Nov. 2015 from 33 churches, 880 campers attended. Rain has fallen from time to time. But we overcame the rain. Preaching, sharing, Tabernacle presentation, group photo-taking, baptism, and Lord Supper will be. Four combined Korean churches came and prayed for the Camp. And sister Puimeng served for the patients. We are learning through the Camp how to live together as the body of Christ, and try to imitate the living in the heaven. Because our body is temple of Holy Spirit, each item of the Tabernacle should be appiled practically, spiritually to our lives.

Dormitory Dedication to the Lord Bok-Yong Church in Korea brought the mission team to Thmohbang, Kohkong for dedication of dormitory. Some students who are staying in jungle area will come to this dormitory and study at Secondary School nearby it.

Sambor Church in Kompongthom Pastor Sokun, his wife Chhovy, and their children Nathanael, and Grace. Bok-Yong church visited there, and saw the practicing of Christmas program. Pastor Sokun has established 11 gospel outreaches over Kompongcham, Preavehear, and Kompongthom province, over 30 High-school students staying at church dormitory.

 

KBS Graduation Day 12 students graduated as Diploma of Theology, and 1 as Bachelor of Theology. They will bear the burden with us for the Lord.

Kindergarten Teachers Training Singaporean teachers taught pastors' wives and Sunday School teachers for three days.

Glory Presbyterian Church in Singapore, which are 21 members of doctors, dentists, pharmacists, and nurses, made medical mission again to Kompongcham, and Kompot, 25th to 28th, December. At two prisons and two churches, they treated around 600 patients. Around 40 inmates were baptized in Kompot. Kompot prison was relocated from downtown to the foot of Bokor Mountain. We built a classroom (sanctuary) there again. Glory Medical team has made continual visits to Cambodia, two times a year for almost 10 years, and healed many people in Christ's love. 12 KBS students accompanied them and interpreted. Beautiful is co-working in the Lord.

Mission Team from HongKong visited PhnomPenh Prison, and shared food which they made, and had Christmas service with inmates. Two were baptized. Joseph, six years old, join the team.

우리 주님의 이름으로 문안드립니다.

항상 이곳을 향하신 기도와 사랑에 감사 드립니다. 이러한 헌신으로 오늘날까지 이곳에서 선교 사역을 감당할 수 있음을 하나님께 감사드립니다.

 

지난 4월은 첫째 주간이 고난주간으로, 목요일 세족식, 그리고 금요일엔 Good Friday로 지키고, 5일에는 새벽 부활절 예배를, 예수님 부활을 학생들이 재현함으로 은혜를 나누었습니다. 이 기간 아프리카 케냐에서는 예배를 드리던 많은 기숙사의 대학생들이 표적이 되어 죽임을 당하고 4월 4일에는 개기월식이 있었습니다.

4월, 3주간 KBS 방학을 맞이하여 대부분 학생들은 고향으로 가고 Ark Stadium 앞의 넓은 땅을 포크레인으로 높은 곳을 파서 낮은 곳으로 메우고 축구장을 만들기 시작했고, 4월 마지막 주간에는 싱가폴 Life BP 교회 선교팀이 와서 신학강의와 마을교회 방문을 하고, 꼬꽁의 트모방, 정글 지역 교회와 꼬꽁 시내의 한마음교회 (이타 사역자)와 빠끄롱교회(아모스 사역자)를 방문하고 교제했습니다. 이타 사역자도 딸이 둘, 아모스 사역자는 자녀, 셋을 두고 있습니다. KBS 신학교를 졸업하고 10년 넘게 혹은 수 년간 그곳에서 사역을 감당하고 있습니다.

 

5월 5~ 6일 양일간 프놈펜 연합봉사관에서 MAC( 캄보디아 선교 연맹)의 총회가 열려 60여명의 선교사님들이 참석해서, 이제 새로이 열리는 ASEAN 10개국 경제연합 시대에 어떻게 대처해 나갈 것 인가를 강의를 듣고 토론했습니다. 이제 여기에 속한 나라는 점점 국경을 없애고 자유로운 왕래와 투자, 기업활동, 취업 등을 하게 됩니다. 이렇게 되었을 때 캄보디 아는 유익보다는 손실이 클 것으로 예상돼 많은 국민과 정치인이 걱정하고 있습니다. 그러나 많은 교회와 신자가 생겨나고 있기 때문에 하나님이 지키시고 하나님이 도우시면 오히려 이 10개국 위에 우뚝 설 수 있는 기회이기도 합니다.

13~15일 공휴일을 맞이하여 KBS 체육대회를 하였고 세팀으로 나누어 여러 종목에서 경주하였고, 토요일에는 아주 한 적한 쁘렉쨔 해변으로 가서 수영하고 투망을 하여 1,000여마리 고기를 잡았습니다. 아주 기쁜 시간이었습니다.

5월 말에는 싱가폴교회 (Living Praise) 에서 일주간, 6월에는 호주와 싱가폴에서 와서 한달동안 강의 합니다.

 

한편, 둘째 동석이는 싱가폴 SMU 에서 공부하다 이번 3월에 서울대에 교환학생으로 오게되어 6월까지 경영대에서 공부하고 한국 생활을 만끽하고 있습니다 1살때 한국을 떠나 이제 25년 만에 다시 한국 생활을 맛보고 있습니다.

 

선하신 하나님께서 항상 같이 하시고 다가올 환난과 시험에도 지키시고, 우리를 불가운데 정결케 하시기를 소망합니다.

먼저 이곳을 향하신 기도와 사랑에 감사드립니다. 

 

지난 7월부터 사역을 말씀드리면,  서일 교회에서 선교 탐방을 오셔서 꼬꽁의 한마음교회와 빠끄롱 교회, 그리고 스라이 엄벌 교회를 방문하시고 KBS 신학교에서도 교제를 했습니다. 또 옥스포드 대학에서 박사과정을 하시는 오석환 목사님이 한인 선교사와 현지 목회자간의 관계를 연구하는 가운데 KBS 출신 사역자들과 여러번 인터뷰를 하고 직접 마을 교회들도 방문했습니다.

 

8월에는 소명교회에서 고3학생들이 추축이 되어 마을교회와 신학교에서 발표를 하고 또 계림 교회에서 라따나끼리 까챤 프레이징 교회내에 유치원을 봉헌하고져 교회 여러분이 오셔서 그 곳 학생들과 헌당식을 하였습니다.

또 새 에덴교회 청년부에서 라따나끼리, 끄라쳬, 프놈펜에서 사역을 했습니다. 싱가폴 리빙 프레이즈 교회에서와 신학생들에게 강의 하였고 저는 어깨 치료를 위해 귀국하여 서울과 광주에서 치료를 받았습니다.

 

9월에는 싱가폴 모리야 교회에서 방문했고 김은실 선교사가 사역하는 교도소 사역을 위해 내무부와 M.O.U를 체결했습니다.

 

이제 11월에 부흥회가 예정되어 있고, 신학교 허가 갱신을 신청해 놓았는데 아직 종교부에서 연락이 없고, K.C.S 초등학 교도 허가 갱신중이며 중학생들이 몇명 더 기숙사로 들어올 예정이며,

10월 중에는 중간방학이 2주간 있으며 학생들은 대부분 집으로 갑니다.

이제 광복 70주년도 지나고, 이스라엘 독립 70주년이 가까워 오고 아직 긴장상태인 남북한 문제 핵, 미사일, 땅굴등 바로 코앞에 위험이 상존하고 극단적인 IS의 출현, 그리고 선교지에서도 교회의 성장과 성숙에 큰 도전들이 수시로 나타나고, 갈수록 길은 좁아지고 하루 하루의 시간이 힘겹게 흘러갑니다. 주님의 말씀과 너무 동떨어진 생활에 너무 익숙하여 계명을 어기는 것조차 지킨다믿고 생활하고 있으니 참 두려운 일입니다. 이런 모든 어려운 일들을 헤쳐나가기 위해서라도 그리스도의 몸된 믿음의 공동체 형성이 시급한 일이라고 생각됩니다. 서로 뜻과 방향이 같은 형제들은 이제 더욱 강한 연합을 이루어야 할 때입니다. 주님의 은혜와 간섭이 더욱 필요한 때입니다.

 

서로를 위해 더욱기도하고 사랑만에 귀하기를 원하며,
