[Eng/한글번역] The History of Ottreth Christian School ( former KCS)

 

2000년도부터 오뜨레스 비치근방에 있는 오뜨레스마을에 신학생을 보내서 그곳의 50여 가구의 아이들을 가르치기 시작했다. 

From year 2000, kbs sent students to the Ottreth village, located near beach, and taught children.

그 마을은 시내에서 멀리 떨어져있었고 학교는 멀어 대부분의 아이들은 집에있고 부모들은 바다에가서 물고기와 새우를잡아 연명해갔다.

The village located far from the downtown. Most children stayed home because there is no school nearby. Their parents went to the sea and caught fish and small shrimp using net. Nobody has boat. It was extremely poor village. Because they do not have their own land they built their hut along the unpaved road.

자신들의 땅도 없고 무작정 이 도시로 이사와서 여기에서 나무를 베어 초가로 임시 거처를 만들어놓고 새우나 물고기 잡아먹으며 하루하루 살아가는 도시의 최 빈민들이었다. 두세평 좁은공간에 나무평상 하나 모기장 하나. 냄비 한 두개 담요 한두장 이것이 그들의 살림살이 전부였다. 이 마을을 보고나니 아이들만이라도 가르쳐야겠다고 생각됐다. 그래서 우리학생 한 두명을 일주일에 서 너번 그곳에보내 가르쳤다. 우리도 네 다섯평쯤되는 임시 초가교실을 만들고 모래바닦에 책상 대 여섯개를 갇다놓고 조그마한 칠판붙여서 아이들을 가르쳤다. 한 이십명 이상이와서 배웠다.

These people built just booth with wood and grass and live in small space, having only mosque net, simple bed, a cooking pot and blankets. So we decided to sent our bible students there. We also built simple classroom with wood and grass and put several tables and chairs on sandy floor. Over 20 children learnt.

 

몇년이 지나고 길가에 살던 이들이 길 안으로 들어가 20×30미터의 큰 땅을 가구마다 차지하여 그곳에다 제법 집같은 것를 짓고 살기 시작했다. 그 땅이 임자가 없기때문에 캄.법에따라 그곳에 오래 산 사람이 차지할 권리가 있다고했다. 그러다 얼마 안 있어서 그 집들이 밤에 다 불타버리고 졸지에 마을사람들은 다시 거리로 나앉게 되었다.
Later on they started to build proper houses inside the street, having 20×30 meter of land, each family. They claimed they are entitled to have ownership because that land has no owner. But later on all their houses were brunt in the night and they were thrown into the street, having nothing. They lost all in a night. We saw their misery. How can we bear their burden? They stayed under the tent in hot weather and there was no water, no electricity, nothing. Children were forsaken in dusty road. If they stay in that circumstances several months, children could die one by one. So we decided to bring children to kbs with our school truck

 

빨리 조치를 취하지 않으면 그 땡볕에 텐트아래서 물도. 전기도 아무것도없는 먼지 날리는 거리에서 한 두명씩 죽어 나갈것 같았다. 급히 학교 트럭을 보내 아침에 어린이들을 신학교로 데려와 거기서 간단히 가르치고 점심을 주고 오후에 학교에서 놀게 한 뒤 저녁쯤 되어서 그들 부모에게로 돌려보냈다. 조금지나면 문제가 해결되리라 생각했으나 이 분쟁은 10년이상 갔고 우리는 이렇게 10년이상을 똥안선생(Teacher But Tong An)이 이 아이들을 트럭에 태워오고 데려다주고 하면서 이 수업이 정식 초등학교가 되고 똥안선생과 그의 부인 뜨리나선생이 150명 정도의 학생들을 여러 선생들과 가르치고 또 주일날 같이 예배를 드렸다. 또 오뜨레마을의 궁핍을 알기에 선교팀이 올때마다 그곳을 돕게하고 15여명의 학생들은 프놈펜으로 보냈다. 그들이 중.고.대학을 졸업할때까지 도왔다. 이제 이마을 사람들은 얼마의 땅을 받아 끄발차이나 다른곳으로 이주했다. 더 이상 그 마을은 없다. 그러나 이들의 얼굴과 생활. 사역은 뚜렸하게 남아있다.
After bringing them, we taught them in our school, gave lunch and grant them take rest until evening. Everyday we brought them and back. I thought the dispute would end soon but it lasted more than 10 years. So we started formal primary school for them, we brought them everyday with our truck and back for more than 10 years. Teacher Tongan and his wife took charge of them with 4 public school teachers. We brought also many mission teams to that village and asked them to help. We also sent more than 15 srudents to PhnomPen and provided accommodation and their need until they finish highschool and university. Now they have received some land for relocation, so all moved out. Now we cannot find this village any more. But the memory of their life and ministry is clear still.
